Admission

Prospective students should complete the application for admission on this site. The $25 application fee must be sent to the address below.

We encourage applicants to write or call for an appointment to visit the university.

All applications are individually evaluated. As soon as applications are complete, decisions are reached and applicants notified. Every attempt is made to complete this process within two weeks.

To be considered for admission the applicant must submit the following:
  1. Completed application form
  2. Application fee ($25)
  3. Official high school transcript which includes class rank, and GED certificate and scores, if applicable
  4. Scholastic Assessment Test (SAT I) or American College Testing (ACT) scores (may be waived for applicants who have been out of high school for at least three years or have an associate, RN, or baccalaureate degree)
The university welcomes applications from all qualified persons regardless of race, religion, or national origin. Admission standards have been established to ascertain which prospective students will be most likely to succeed at the university. An applicant for admission should have graduated from an accredited four year high school or should possess an equivalency diploma issued by a state department of education. All applicants should submit evidence of their ability to do college level work, as indicated by such tests as the Scholastic Assessment Test (SAT I). All applicants are required to have a Social Security number.

Transfer Students

A student who seeks to transfer should also complete the online application on this site. The $25 application fee must be sent to the address below. Transfer students should also arrange to have all other colleges attended sent to the California University of Pennsylvania Office of Admissions official transcripts and/or statements of honorable dismissal, which indicate that the applicant has been cleared academically, socially, and financially.


Services for Students with Disabilities

Services for Students with Learning Disabilities: The CARE Project has two programs available to provide services to students with learning disabilities. It is the student's responsibility to contact the CARE office for information about application procedures, services and required documentation. Students are encouraged to contact the CARE office at (724) 938-5781 prior to arriving on campus.

Services for Students with All Other Disabilities: It is the student's responsibility to contact the Office of Services for Students with Disabilities (OSSD) for information about services and required documentation. Students are encouraged to contact OSSD at (724) 938-4012 prior to arriving on campus.

How to Use the California University of Pennsylvania Online Application

To complete the online application, simply type your answers in the corresponding fields or select your answers from the popup lists (where applicable).

After you complete a screen, click the NEXT button at the bottom or on one of the sections listed on the left column to move to a different screen. Before you are allowed to jump screens, we will inspect your data on the current screen for errors or inconsistencies. If errors or omissions are found, you will be returned to the screen to correct your answer(s). Otherwise, your data will be saved and you will proceed to the requested screen. We also allow you to skip to another screen without your new data being saved. Be aware that if you use the Skip & Jump function on the left column, data on the current screen will not be saved and will have to be re-entered prior to submittal.

Once you have completed the application, click the 'SUBMIT' button located on the left column to submit the application.
